Albert E.

Designstory

It all began with a photograph: Albert Einstein, standing at work in the Bern Patent Office. In front of him, a simple lectern – clean lines, stripped down to the essentials.
Its form sharpens the mind, making focused and precise work almost effortless.

The photo was taken around 1905 – the very spring in which Einstein developed his groundbreaking theory of relativity and formulated the world’s most famous equation: E = mc².

The standing desk he used was manufactured in Bern at the time. In the early 20th century, the Swiss furniture industry was undergoing a dramatic shift – from handcrafted individual pieces to serial, machine-based, and specialized mass production.

This change was driven by the booming Swiss hotel industry and a growing demand for fast delivery.
At the same time, it marked a new era in intellectual property: when good ideas become mass-produced goods, sought-after innovations, or precisely targeted services and solutions.

Ergonomic Working

Unbalanced strain, constant sitting, poor posture – all of these harm our health.
Variety in the way we work stimulates both mind and body. This includes standing up regularly, changing posture, or consciously looking out the window to relax the eyes.

Tasks done while standing are often performed more consciously, with greater focus and attention.

The Albert E. is infinitely height-adjustable and fully compatible with all standard electronic devices.

The Lectern

The surface of the brushed, untreated oak feels simply wonderful – warm and silky to the touch.
It naturally invites your hand to rest on it.The height can be smoothly adjusted from 99 to 119 cm thanks to an electric motor.

A precisely milled groove holds all common tablets and smartphones securely in place.

The lectern is ergonomically angled for comfortable use. Two drilled holes keep pens clearly organized and within reach for handwritten notes. Power supply and USB ports are neatly integrated into the side of the Albert E..

Expandable

The Albert E. performs excellently as a classic lectern. Its front panel can be equipped with a display or customized with a logo, for example.

Working with Purpose

Standing gives you a new perspective. The thoughtfully designed Albert E. enables you to work with intention and presence.
Movement while working stimulates circulation and enhances blood flow to the brain.
Activity and a shift in perspective sharpen the senses.

The Albert E.. serves both as a classic lectern for written documents and as a multimedia platform – with all necessary ports integrated.

Masterful craftsmanship ensures a satisfying tactile experience, and an optional external power supply with a high-performance battery allows for fully autonomous operation.
